Aries Ingress 1988
We have to wait just three months and we again encounter a cardinal
ingress. This time it is the Aries Ingress which will occur on March
20, 1998. As I have said before, the chart drawn for a cardinal
ingress gives us a picture of what can be expected during the following
three months. The Capricorn Ingress, however, provides information
for a full year.
The Aries Ingress occurs when the transiting Sun reaches 00 degrees
and 00 minutes of Aries. This moment is also called the vernal equinox
in the Northern Hemisphere when the duration of daylight is equal
to the duration of nighttime and spring begins. In many cultures,
this time is considered the beginning of the New Year. We astrologers
celebrate International Astrology Day because the zodiac starts
with Aries.
The forthcoming Aries Ingress will occur on March 20, 1998 at 11:55
a.m. Pacific Standard Time, at 12:55 p.m. Mountain Standard Time,
at 1:55 p.m. Central Standard Time, and at 2:55 p.m. Eastern Standard
Time.
The Aries Ingress chart drawn for the White House has 19 Leo at
the Ascendant. The Sun, at 00 degrees and 00 minutes of Aries, falls
in the eighth house of beginnings and endings, other people's money,
and finances of the partner. A Grand Trine is formed between the
Ascendant at 19 Leo, Saturn at 20 Aries, and the Moon at 24 Sagittarius.
The Moon, however, is Void of Course. (What? Again?) We can expect
things to be not quite right, not only at the White House, but also
for everybody everywhere. People will feel that they are out?of?sorts,
the world is off kilter, and everything is off schedule.
I suggest that you erect a horoscope for the moment of the Ingress
in your time zone, located in the city where you live. In the chart
erected for the city where you live, if the Midheaven or Ascendant
is conjunct or opposite something in your personal horoscope, you
can expect the next three months (until the Cancer Ingress in June)
to be of special importance to you in the nature of the planet that
aspects the MC or ASC. I personally would use no more than one degree
of orb.
I look all over the United States to see where one of the planets
may be angular. In such a city, there will be conditions and events
in the nature of the angular planet. You may remember that I analyzed
the January 1998 New Moon because it was conjunct Uranus, the planet
of the unexpected, the shocking, the unusual. The Sun?Moon?Uranus
conjunction was at the nadir in several cities, one of which was
Birmingham, Alabama. It was in Birmingham where someone placed a
bomb at an abortion clinic, killing somebody.
Starting at the West Coast, and going eastward, the 1998 Aries Ingress
has the Sun on the Midheaven in San Diego, California; Spokane,
Washington; Boise, Idaho; Lewiston, Idaho; and Baker, Oregon. Let
us see what events will bring these cities to our attention in the
next three months.
At the moment of the Aries Ingress, we find Mars on the Midheaven
of charts drawn for locations having a longitude of about 105 degrees.
Some of the cities near this longitude are Denver, Colorado; Carlsbad,
New Mexico; Santa Fe, New Mexico; El Paso, Texas; and Mazatlan,
Mexico.
At the moment of the Aries Ingress, we find Mercury on the Midheaven
of charts drawn for locations having a longitude of about 100 degrees.
Some of the cities near this longitude are Bismarck, North Dakota;
Pierre, South Dakota; and Mexico City, Mexico. I wonder what news
will come to us about these cities.
At the moment of the Aries Ingress, we find Saturn on the Midheaven
of charts drawn for locations having a longitude of about 97 degrees.
Some of these cities are Austin, Fort Worth, Dallas, and Brownsville,
all in Texas; Lincoln, Nebraska; Wichita, Kansas; and Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma. I must point out that in both Fort Worth and Dallas, Texas,
while Saturn is at the Midheaven, Neptune is on the Descendant.
At the moment of the Aries Ingress, we find something very interesting:
Uranus, the planet of surprises, the unexpected, the shocking, and
the electrifying follows a curve that puts it on the Descendant
of certain cities. Watch Peoria, Illinois; Springfield, Illinois;
Nashville, Tennessee; and Tallahassee, Florida. Three months from
now, we will know the stories.
Readers of this column know that the last three cardinal ingresses
had a Void?of?Course Moon. If you watch the political scene in Washington,
D.C., you know that one investigation after another fizzled and
was brought to an end without resolution. In astrological circles,
we say that if something is begun under the auspices of a Void?of?Course
Moon, "Nothing will come of it." This general tone will
continue throughout the period of the Aries Ingress.
